So, you have made a valuable contribution to your firm and now find yourself heading up a team or department and need to get to grips with the fundamentals of management. Freed from the limits of the Management Course Stage One syllabus, this programme is aimed at the first level manager who wants to be highly effective in their role.
This course is also going to benefit every solicitor in their first three years PQE that wants to make sure they have addressed the appropriate SRA competency standards in preparation for the Practicing Certificate Renewal exercise for their CPD year ending on 31st October.
But beware: this is not about theory – it is a highly practical course where you will be able to make an immediate positive impact on your return to the office.
Also note: In order to receive or maintain a Legal Aid Contract in a particular Category of Law, a firm must employ a Supervisor in that Category. In order to qualify as a Supervisor, an individual must have completed an approved training course covering key supervisory skills no earlier than 12 months prior application [or have completed the Level 3 or higher National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) standard in supervising]. This programme will help you meet that requirement.
Course Structure
This course has been broken down into three manageable stages detailed below:
- Complete and return pre-course work – This will encourage delegates to evaluate their existing practices and know-how
- View a recorded on-line seminar showcasing a practical workshop which includes a comprehensive on-line workbook and presentation materials
- Pre-event and post-event discussion templates are also provided to encourage delegates to discuss the training and what they have learnt with their line manager. Templates are fully supported through delegate on-line pack.
Once we have confirmed that you have completed all of the relevant sections, you will be issued with an email confirming the date of completion and the total number of CPD hours. Please retain this email as proof of completion. Should you wish to purchase a “display” certificate, this can be obtained for a small fee of £10 + VAT.
