This bundle includes both Magistrates Court Qualification (MCQ) assessments; the Portfolio Submission and the Interview and Advocacy Assessment (IAA). This bundle is for qualified practitioners only.
Portfolio Submission
The Portfolio will contain summaries of twenty-five cases where you have provided advice and assistance to clients at the magistrate's court. The purpose of the Portfolio is to:
Enable you to demonstrate the level and range of your experience of conducting cases in the magistrates' court
Encourage you to consider and reflect upon your magistrate's court practice
Enable us to assess your performance, by reference to the competence standards
IAA
The purpose of the IAA is to enable us to assess your competence and effectiveness as a duty solicitor acting for a client in magistrates' court proceedings.
The assessment consists of two parts; A simulated client interview and a simulated appearance in a magistrates' court where you will make representations and/or submissions in respect of three cases.
