Course Overview

Each year, the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) publishes an annual Risk Outlook report. In the report published at the end of July 2017, one of the risks which the SRA identified is related to standards of behaviour and solicitors maintaining their independence and integrity.

In this session lecturer Sue Edwards will provide viewers with an overview of the SRA report and the guidance it provides, with particular reference to how process management must be an integral part of helping professionals to meet their obligations and duties.

This session will examine the following:

  • The background and duties
  • Warning – Particular areas of practice e.g. PPI and holiday claims
  • What the SRA will do to help to assist with managing this risk 
  • Practical steps to meet standards including dealing with SRA guidance and process management
