Clinical Negligence

Delivered by expert speakers including former NHS Claims Manager and Governance Leader Alison Joyce, Datalaw’s selection of clinical negligence courses have been designed to meet the training needs of all practitioners interested in this area of law, regardless of their role or level of experience.

Those new to clinical negligence, including paralegals, legal executives and trainee solicitors, will benefit from Alison’s introductory 2-hour clinical negligence course Basics of Clinical Negligence which aims to provide viewers with an understanding of the principles upon which clinical negligence claims may be founded and will ensure that the correct questions are asked when taking instructions from the client.

Experienced practitioners who require intermediate / advanced level clinical negligence training may find Alison’s other titles which include Establishing the Correct Claimant and The Duty of Candour of interest. For those wishing to specialise in birth related clinical negligence matters, Steve Green’s series of in-depth webinars exploring the impact of child birth in terms of what can go wrong during pregnancy and what injuries can affect a mother and / or baby during labour, will prove invaluable.

All our clinical negligence training webinars are designed to provide viewers with practical guidance which, once implemented, will have a positive and immediate impact on their practice. For example, our Claims Arising From Lack Of Consent webinar not only discusses what consent is, whether it is valid and the circumstances in which consent cannot be obtained, it also provides advice on how to successfully bring a negligence claim. In addition, consideration will be given to the difficulties which practitioners may face when trying to prove a negligence claim and what you can do to address these issues, making this clinical negligence course ideal for practitioners who would like to refresh their knowledge of this crucial area of clinical negligence practice.

Other clinical negligence training highlights include Law Hound lecturers Steph Barber and Sue Edwards’ in-depth look at the Pre-Action Protocol for the resolution of clinical disputes and their examination of how the NHS Litigation Authority approaches and manages risk.
