Why do I need to do the SRA Self Assessment? It’s that time of year when solicitors’ minds turn towards their training and CPD. Some of you might know that the rules have changed and that you are now required to do more, more often and consistently. What many solicitors have ignored is the mandatory SRA requirement to conform to a regular and continued form of learning. Instead of cramming everything into October, since last November the SRA have insisted on a continuing course of planning, learning, reflecting and self assessment. If you haven’t been doing this then you could be at risk of not being able to renew your practicing certificate in October, as this is a new requirement of the practicing certificate renewal process.
