Helen was called to the bar in 2004, Grays Inn, and has recently joined Kings Chambers in Manchester. Helen has built a practice specialising in civil law, with a particular emphasis on employment and personal injury. In 2010, Helen was appointed to the Attorney General's panel of approved Counsel, and appears for a variety of Government departments throughout the country.
Helen has experience of representing both employers and employees at the Employment and Employment Appeal Tribunal, with a particular expertise in unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, discrimination, victimisation and harassment, along with issues arising from redundancy exercises and TUPE. In addition, Helen has a strong practice in personal injury law, regularly acting in multi-track trials, and drafting pleadings, opinions and trial documents as required and frequently advises on quantum and liability.
