This course is a definitive guide to the SRA Practising Regulations and Authorisation Rules which govern the nuts and bolts of professional practice.

This is an unashamedly practical session. Viewers will have the option to easily mix and match the relevant sections of the course depending on where you are in the practising year; whether you’re applying to be regulated by the SRA, preparing for SRA renewal, or have concerns about practising certificate conditions, this course will help you understand the process and requirements relevant to your situation:

This course is split into three sections as follows:

  1. Introduction to Renewals
  2. 'Core' – This section will cover authorisation, recognition, conditions, and revocation
  3.  'Renewals' – This section will cover the key information and questions regarding renewal
  4. 'Renewals Themes' – This section will discuss common renewal questions, how the SRA use the information, and how to plan your renewal strategy  

In addition, the notes which accompany this course feature optional activities to embed your knowledge, and improve your confidence in this complex area.

About Instructor - Katie Jackson

Katie Jackson is a consultant specialising in law firm compliance and regulation. A former Inspector for the Council for Licensed Conveyancers, Katie led and managed inspections of some of the largest conveyancing practices in the country. Prior to working for the CLC, Katie spent a number of years working in various inspection and policy roles for the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and Legal Services Commission.
