Course Overview

This bite-size course offers a practical discussion of the wide range of issues and problems which can arise out of the notice and declaration procedure which a landlord and tenant must follow in order to ensure that a lease is validly excluded from the protection of Part II of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.

What are the requirements?

  • Watch 20 minute recorded webinar, including reference notes, discussion questions and optional evaluation form to test your legal knowledge
  • This course provides 0.5 – 1 CPD point (depending on length of time spent considering the discussion questions and completing the evaluation form)

Learning Outcomes

  • On completion of this course you will:

    • Be able to recognise problem scenarios and identify the steps which need to be taken to resolve them before the parties are committed to the lease
    • Be able to carry out due diligence and other reporting exercises with a clear understanding of the issues which may need to be disclosed and/or reported on

About Instructor - Richard Quenby

Richard was called to the Bar in 1985. For the next thirteen years he practised at the Chancery Bar in Manchester, where he specialised in landlord and tenant, commercial property and insolvency work.

Richard now works as a freelance writer, tutor and lecturer. His published articles have appeared in Estates Gazette, Property Week, Legal Week and The Lawyer. He is also the co-author of Flat Schemes in Residential and Mixed Use Developments, published by Bloomsbury Publishing.
