Course Overview

Family Reunification is an important part of the benefits associated with Refugee Status. All Applications for Refugee Reunion applications are free. Family Reunion Immigration Rules also applies to those granted Humanitarian Protection on or after 25 August 2005. This category includes those not having a Refugee Convention grounds but qualify under the ECHR under Humanitarian Protection.

Applications are normally made from abroad but if the family member manages to reach the UK somehow then the rules allow applications to be made from within the UK are also looked.

This course looks at refugee who are “Sur Place”, meaning they were recognised as such because either event post their arrival in the host country or their activities lead them to be recognised as refugees due to post flight activities and they formed family relationship in that time.

  • Watch x2 20 minute recorded webinars, including reference notes, discussion questions and optional evaluation form to test your legal knowledge
  • This course provides 1-2 CPD points (depending on length of time spent considering the discussion questions and completing the evaluation form)
  • This course is currently in development and will be available to view during the current CPD year.

    • Have a greater understand who is eligible for Refugee Reunion applications and how to evidence this eligibility
    • Have the knowledge and skills required to successfully make a Refugee Reunion application
