Tawney is a Law Lecturer at the Truman Bodden Law School, where she delivers the University of Liverpool’s LL.B degree and provides legal guidance to the government of the Cayman Islands. She holds an LL.B, a Master’s degree in Education, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Tawney teaches a broad range of subjects across undergraduate, postgraduate, and work-based learning programmes, specialising in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice. Her practical expertise is informed by her research in prisons, focusing on advocating for improvements in penal policy.
In addition, Tawney has a strong interest in pedagogy and innovative practices in teaching and learning, which is rooted in her experience in various student-focused leadership roles aimed at enhancing the student experience.
