The Legal Issues Relating to Care at the End of Life
This course will cover the law relating to care provided to patients at the end of their life, and will explore some of the tensions faced by those receiving the care, their families and the clinicians providing the care. It will cover the decision-making process that should be followed, and what can be done if families feel that an inappropriate decision has been made.

· The Doctrine of Double Effect
· Do Not Attempt Resuscitation Orders (current and previous position)
· Best Interests Test
· Withdrawing Treatment
· When Can Treatment be Withdrawn, or Withheld
